Default Advice needed about eBid listing templates

Hi, I have just had a look at the listing templates in the my defaults section and have a few questions.

I was intending to save my terms and conditions on a template so that it would slip into each listing automatically after the item description. However I can't see how to do this. The options seem to need a whole listing to be saved.

Is there any way of just saving the T&C's? The reason I ask is that I am intending including a stat counter in each listing which will of course have a unique code.

Also I see that you have to choose which editor you require: wysiwyg simple or advanced or the html plain. To do my listings I need to use both to enable the counter coding.

    Thanks for your help.

Yes. From "My Defaults" > "My General Defaults" > Scroll down to "Description" and enter your details in the description box > SAVE

I have switched back and forth between the editor. You may have to save what is entered in wysiwyg and then return to default area to enter html data.

You could try that or wait for a more techy person to happen along.

    For me,
Switching between wysiwyg and HTML and back in mid-edit has not been a problem.

I use my current listings as templets for new listings.
I sometimes open old listings in a new window, and copy-n-paste.
I have even copied a Table with my T&C from my e-vil listing, to my listings here, in standard mode (wysiwyg)
The browser you are using might make a differance. so "trial n error"

    Try this
    copy-n-paste the counter in wysiwyg,
switch to html to tweek it,
    switch back to check.
    If that didn't work.
Paste an html/text version of the counter into a .txt file somewhere on your hard drive.
Copy-n-paste that into your listings (in html mode) as needed.
Edit/update it whichever place is easier.

Is the real problem, dread of HTML?
Do it a few times, you'll get used to it. or drop the counter.

My problem with such counters is that the outfit that wrote it (the URL in the code), is collecting your traffic data and reselling it.
That's why it's free. Why they exist.

No the problem is not a fear of html, although it looks like and is a foreign language. it is just the same as learning to use a computer (thought they were very complicated when I started but they are fairly easy now when not malfunctioning).

Mind you the waryness of computers was caused by an idiot teacher in junior school teaching (or trying to in my case) the binary code. He said quite definitely that "You will never be able to use a computer unless you learn how the binary code works.

Result of that I did not understand the binary code (still don't) but I can use computers.

As with the computers I may be wary of html but I was always told If you are not sure ask before you do something.

I pretty much learned what I know about HTML and other stuff (JavaScript, JSON, PHP, CSS...) from this site: http://www.w3schools.com/

That and looking at others' source code to see how they achieved something.

The site is good as you can practice in the 'Try It Yourself' editor and get instant feedback.

You currently can't create listing with variations, you will have to create a listing for each size. Quantities are no problem, just create multi- item listings.

Variations have long been asked for. Maybe they will appear in the site revamp later this month - but I'm not holding my breath.
