The BBC did run the story but not in a prominent place on the BBC News website. A conspiracy theorist could have thought that the BBC was trying to hide the story because of where they placed it.

my mistake i assumed upton was in wales when i fact its part of the wirral , i should of searched northwest -liverpool, because it is of national importance it should of had national coverage,if you compare with reporting of a pop star who has a baby gets national coverage, so i concur it is a conspiracy /cover up

its really looking like we have to have a disaster before they stop fracking, still my may concern is how the government override landowners to achieve this dangerous extraction, we will need a revolution to repeal this taking away landowners rights.

Under the structures of devolution that we have in the UK, fracking is not being allowed to go ahead in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland until it can be proven that it is environmentally safe to do so.

It is only in England where the Westminster Government is trying to drive fracking forward with disregard for local opinion.

You would have thought that the Westminster Government would take into account what the devolved administrations are saying about fracking. Instead we appear to be on the verge of totalitarianism where local democracy is OK as long as it agrees with what the Westminster Government wants but can be overridden if it does not give the support that Westminster wants. The legal changes to drilling without permission under people’s land feel a bit like the thin end of a somewhat thick wedge.

I wrote to my MP in October (Stephen Crabb - Conservative) regarding fracking under national parks. I was asking him to attend the review by MPs (in October) and speak up against fracking. I got my answer TODAY and unsurprisingly he toed the party line as usual and voted in favour.
