Thread: Got My First International eBid Buyer, Have Some Questions

  1. #1

Default Got My First International eBid Buyer, Have Some Questions

So last night I got my first international buyer on eBid in Canada. They purchased an old Windows 95 vintage software disc. Anyway, I am attempting to print the mailing label out and I have two questions.

    1. For First Class International Package Service, could I use a padded mailer envelope or MUST I use a box?

    2. Where does the customs form go? Does it go inside the package or does it somehow get attached on the outside?

This is the first time I am mailing something out internationally on my own, so any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

    1. For packaging, use whatever works best for your item. There is no specific packaging for international mailing.
    2. Customs form goes on the outside of the package. The post office loves it when you print the information. They get fined if the writing is not legible.

RE the packaging: this applies to the UK, US may have different rules. But the customs form is definitely on the outside

Thanks all. I eventually figured it out. I used a padded mailer envelope + extra material since that was the most practical packaging for that item, and I found out that the customs form is printed as part of the mailing label. I had been under the impression that the form was a separate sheet. Now a new eBid buyer in Canada will be receiving a Microsoft Encarta 95 software disc.
