Kindle advice please?

My shiny new Kindle arrived on Friday. I have one book on it because the river gave me a freebie a while ago when I bought a paper book. Any advice, please?

there are lots of free and cheap (under £1) available on the river.

How did you find the free ones, Penni? When I looked even Jane Austen (out of copyright if anything is!) cost money, if not much (am terminally tight!)

Gutenberg.org is your best bet

i signed up to the kindle newsletter and it tells you of special offers. Also if you change the dropdown box to kindle store and type free as your search there are quite a few

Few years back when I got my kindle I bought a disc of books from an Online auction site (cough cough) cost me few pounds for 2 thousand books...download the disc to your pc then add books to kindle it was very simple and only cost me a few pounds for the disc...I just deleted any I didn't fancy reading...still have loads left to read ! I then passed the disc on to others...

Thank you for the hints - I'll soon be ready to give up paper novels (except for reading in the bath!)
