We've got the Welsh Assembly and Police Commisioner elections here in Wales. Both a complete waste of time and money, but will vote any way.
the only election we have are the police Commisioner voting & have not heard anything about it, apart from the card s telling us theres an election, so don't think this time we may bother, normally we do.
Scottish parliament elections today.
If the polls are right then the big story will be if the Conservatives beat Labour to take 2nd place, as some polls are suggesting.
Totally agree with you, particularly about the Police Commissioner (which is just another trough created for someone to feed from). As with all elections it is not about who I support but who I think is the least corrupt and/or who Is likely to do me the least damage.
Really long past due the whole corrupt system was overhauled, but the control over that is in the hands of those in power - and they are never going to change it (as was demonstrated in the Hobson's Choice AV referendum).

I've only had the official card from the council.
No leaflets from any party for voting for them and nothing from the police commissioner candidates.
If the candidates can't be bothered informing the electorate about themselves and what they promise to do, then I have no reason to do a 1.5 mile round trip walk to the nearest polling station to vote for some invisible candidate.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.
If you don't vote because the candidates don't seem to care, you are giving them permission to just appoint someone in the future

Just within living memory of the oldest people in the UK, one hundred years ago neither women nor the majority of men were enfranchised to vote. Back in those days they had to fight to get the system where every adult can vote so I think it important to honour the right to vote and always vote in every election.

After his appalling standard of behaviour in Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons yesterday, I am changing who I am going to vote for as London Mayor to stick it to David Cameron.
We have three votes to do, local candidate, police whatsit and welsh assembly, only one party have knocked on my door, maybe thats because of the huge poster i have in my window, will be going later when my pills kick in, just ibuprofen as I am driving. Please everyone don't waste your vote, use it even if it's only to vote for what you think is the best of a bad lot.
