Nope, can't really say I've looked closely at a stapler before. As far as I was concerned it was just a machine you shoved two pieces of paper into and hit, or in the case of Buttons two pieces of your friend's school uniform when they weren't looking !

So everything you know is what you were taught at school?

At least 90% of what I was taught at school has been totally irrelevant in my life. Real learning didn't start until after I left school when I was free to concentrate on what mattered to me. In the highly unlikely event that I ever needed to know who followed Henry I as king of England I could look it up rather than having spent time learning it rote.

I was replying to people who were talking about what they did at school.

Since both my children were home educated, I am well aware that things learned outside of the classroom are usually more valuable than things learned in the classroom.

Also: the light does go off when you shut the fridge door. If you put your head in the fridge and slam the door shut really hard, then the lights in the room go out too.

If you want to fix a few sheets of paper together but don't have a stapler or clip....

1. Place the sheets together.
2. Fold back the top-left corner.
3. Tear/cut a tab and fold forward.
