Just sat and eaten a whole box of almond and cranberry nougat and am now feeling a bit sick.

Yeah - your doctor sounds like a bit of a pain. He/she must not have the latest info on nutrition.......eat nuts and fruit. Very healthy. Perhaps you are feeling a bit iffy because you didn't get enough of those in your diet.

I think it is maybe all the sweet gooy nougat that isn't sitting too well.

At least whatever I open (sweets, cakes, biscuits) never gets the chance to go stale.
