Wrong details on PayPal email

A buyer bought 16 items and paid by PayPal on a MIC. Normally the email from PayPal lists the items but in this case the PayPal payment just listed “Invoice from bunsock on eBid
Item Number 13477”. However, no invoice had been issued. For reference one of the item numbers was 70610507.

I have had a number of emails from Paypal which have only gven the invoice number and the sum due. This is OK by me and I am hoping that this will mean the end of the limit of 99 items on an eBid invoice which was imposed by Paypal.
I cannot remember whether this happened on the last few MIC payments but I never used the Paypal list of items when packing. preferring to use "Items I have sold".

I only raised it as I thought something had gone wrong. If they have got rid of the 99+ item problem this way then that will be good news. As you say there are plenty of other ways of determining the items sold.

I had one today, it said Invoice from billsstamps on Ebid, and no listing of the four items when I went to the packing slip.

It is happening frequently now. I just use print packing slip on Ebid instead.

A good idea because often the Ebid address is the right one when the Paypal address is different - customers have said it is difficult to change addresses on Paypal.

I wonder whether Paypal have changed something that scrambles the item data feed from Ebid sometimes.

We have had to change the way we send payment information to PayPal. Before we would send the details of individual items found on an Invoice or Multi-Item Checkout (MIC) but since PayPal updated their payment pages it was would crash if around 10 or more items were on the list.

We fixed this by merging all items into a single invoice/checkout ID number.

If you can forward the email in question to support FAO Gazza I will take a look at the wording and the ID numbers to see if we can improve.
