I've used Weebly for about 4-5 years now and never had to pay a penny. There is an option to upgrade and get more services.

I've been able to make some eye-catching sites with Weebly and found that their free version was robust enough for whatever I wanted to do. Their customer support has been good the few times I've contacted them. The last 2 Weebly sites were for selling a van, and for adopting out a litter of kittens. Worked great :-)

Can you use Tumblr, Pinterest, or another social media site for your project? Most people have a hard time getting traffic to their personal site so building the entire project on a social site, or having a social presence that sends people to their personal site, ends up working better than a standalone website does.

    Good luck :-)

Thanks for your input. Yes, I use pinterest, facebook, google+, blogs, etsy, eBid, craigslist. I just think I could use another venue (website) to use for advertising my goods as well. Anywhere and everywhere I can.
