This won't help with brand but it will help with the hole in the bread.

What I do is make the dough in the bread maker and then loaf it up and bake it in my oven. Ours is an old Hitachi, but it works well.

Takes longer but I like the bread better. Usually though I'm just making a loaf of whole wheat.

I just made one and it's a bit errrrrrr flat to say the least, was my third try, the first two were fine but this one did not comply, tastes ok though.

I have a Panasonic after messing about with a cheap one. There is a hole but we are ok with it. I will be making a loaf later today and I'll photograph it if you like.

I used to have a Morphy Richards breadmaker which was OK.
The hole in the bread is at the underneath of the loaf and is caused by the stirrer paddle.
Mine used to come off its spool and would stay in the bread.

My latest breadmaker is Tesco home delivery
    Graham

Panasonic is the one I have had it or years

problems with bread made in it.

recipes always get the amount of water wrong = to much

always let it stand in the machine so it rises , the machine should slightly warm up to do this,

always go for the full cycle recipes get better results

don't let other half's do it they always add to much water

just use it now to mix then slap it in the rayburn
