Has anyone heard from Mel ? I haven't seen him posting here since mid December. I sent him an email but have had no reply. I hope he is O.K., getting a bit worried about him.

I noticed Mel's abscence; replies to the same kind of posts I do, but more knowledgably.
But then lots of people go underground Christmas to New Year.
I am only posting because it is holiday, away in warmer climes, and ebid store closed. So less to do without dealing with orders.

Am also missing Astral's posts - always interesting and reflects an under-represented core of views in the media. Assumed that he had got fed-up with so little response to any post - where is everyone? All the people that did add comments seemed to have completely disappeared from the Forums.
Newbies hesitate to add their thoughts because of a very often, negative response to posts (jeez, this no-platforming gets everywhere!).
Come back, Astral - all is forgiven, we need a voice of sanity.
Whilst we're at it - can anybody explain to me why Scotland hates being in the UK and wants 27 other countries in the EU, telling them what to do. Baffled!!
There is no rational explanation is there - no more than there is a rational explanation for the increased UK haggis sales - why bite the hand that feeds???? Unless, of course, Scotland has a deep desire to facilitate exports of the stuff across the EU ?
"Sales of haggis are booming across the UK, with the dish increasingly appearing on menus in top restaurants and at street food stalls as well as people’s shopping trollies as it gradually sheds its traditionally unpalatable image, according to the nation’s biggest manufacturer of the dish."
Yoo Hoo! Astral! Come and give us Moo's thoughts on the apparent success of Haggis .........
I noticed that Astral isn't posting too and I had hoped that he was off on a vacation or something pleasant.
The boards are so quiet. The times they have changed again.

Yes, I wondered where Mel was....
I loved to read his posts, always helpful and informative to newbies and even oldies like myself have learned so much from his brilliant contributions to the forums.
Sometimes, he had me in stitches at his boldness and sarcasm, always spoke his mind, so get right back here astral - forums aren't the same without you.
Phew, so pleased to get a reply from Mel today. It seems he hasn't been well over Christmas and the New Year but says he is on the mend. He says :- Wishing you and the other eBid stalwarts well, and I hope you all have a great 2017 and beyond
