Product Attribute Additions to Categories

Hey. I'm trying to sell phone cases and having an issue with the variations. As I understand I cannot add my own models and the preselected ones are missing the latest models from iPhone, Samsung, etc.

Hi There,

I have hair dyes with different colours when I go to the listing and click on "multiple variations to sell" it has a section where you can add the different shades but in the drop-down box the colours are all pre-filled and do not have all the colours we sell so we need to put the colour in but no option is given. Ebid customer support asked us to come here and put in the request.

We need the colours below added:
Copper
Auburn
Chocolate
Blonde
Chestnut Brown
Indus Black
Mahogany
Flame Red
Soft Black
Walnut Blonde
Ash Blonde
Golden Wheat Blonde
Natural Brown
Burgundy
Lightest Blonde

eBid will be seeing many new product attributes being added over the coming months. We will be working on these on a category by category basis.

We'll be working on the most obvious ones to start with before we launch the new system but any of your regular or favourite categories you would like us to spend some time on just drop a note here and perhaps the most important attributes for the at category also.

Any changes in stamps needs to accompanied by a system for automatically changing the old categories to the new, bearing in mind that this cannot be done manually if you have many listings, such my 50000.
Consistency between countries is important.
My experience is that the more categories are subdivided, the fewer sales I get, but that will not be the same across all products.

I do so agree with you, Bill. When attributes were added to Great Britain Stamps a default value was automatically added to existing listings which bore no relationship to the value which should have been there. This was far worse than leaving the attribute blank for existing listings and must have be very annoying for buyers who used the attributes. A warning should have been sent to anyone who had listings in the categories to which attributes were being added. It appears that correcting incorrect attributes cannot be done using bulk edit (or at least I cannot find out how to do it)
Personally, I think that attributes are unnecessary in the stamps category. A good title giving country, date of issue, a catalogue number and condition would allow buyers to search for what they want to buy. If attributes are introduced there must be some mechanism by which incorrect attributes are corrected. At present many British Commonwealth countries are split into two categories (before and after independence). Many sellers cannot or will not list their items in the correct category so what chance that attributes will be accurately used. An example of the problem of items in the wrong category. In the two St Vincent categories there are 2,100 items, at least 165 of these are in the wrong category

The list is endless but for me personally, there is no category for face cloths so I use other but additions would be helpful...ie for colour options.

When I protested that this split was not how stamp catalogues work I was told that it seemed a bit Imperialist! eBid show no signs of understanding that sellers in a particular category may know what they are talking about!

I would prefer if British Commonwealth were split into Pre- and Post- independence. I only collect pre-independence issues. I suspect that I am not the only one. It is annoying to have to scroll past endless recent issues to find what is wanted. My gripe is that sellers do not bother to separate stamps into the correct categories. It is not possible to select by conducting a search as many sellers do not put the date of issue or the reign in which the stamps were issued in their titles.The Belgian site used to have moderators who could move stamps to the correct category if they were wrongly listed.
