Thread: Sad news about meebo1

    Default Sad news about meebo1

It is with great sadness that I have to break the news that we have lost our dear Margarete. She died peacefully at home yesterday afternoon, which is what she wanted, after a long and valiant fight with cancer.

It has been an honour to know such a kind and inspiring lady these last ten years. Our Meebs was always ready to help anyone and her generosity during the YDC charity auctions knew no bounds with her wonderful hand made goods and lovely chocolates from Germany.

I will miss you and your wonderful wit so much my lovely aide de camp. Sergeant Major Cornish and your eBid army pigs salute you and will drink a toast to you in the eBid army mess this evening.

Anyone who has spent even a short time on these forums will know what a thoughtful, funny and sharing lady she was.

I have known Meebo through these forums and the YDC fundraising for more than 10 years

Billy has the camouflage patterned woolly hat she made for him and I keep my cross stitching stuff in one of her beautiful craft bags.

Memories are made of all kind of things and although Meebo and I never met in the real world I have so many funny memories of her.

That really is a gut-wrenching shock to read.

With not being as busy in the forums nowadays - while I was aware she was fighting cancer I didn't appreciate just how far it had progressed.

While I did not have the close relationship with her as you enjoyed, Becky, I do know that all you said to be true. I have been on the receiving end of her selfless generosity and willingness to help another in the past. She was a very special person and will be sorely missed.

Unusually for me I am struggling for words and admit to tears in my eyes as I write this.

My most sincere condolences to her family, friends, and anyone else that was fortunate enough to have their life touched by her.

Rest in peace my dear Meebo.

Astral's words say it all for me. I am choked and saddened to lose this lovely lady I never met.

    Rest in Peace, Margarete. xx

I am so sorry to read of this sad news.
I can't add much more to what has been said by others except

"Meebo, thank you for being Meebo"

    You will be sorely missed.
