Thread: Finally an Order but no notification from eBid

    Lightbulb Finally an Order but no notification from eBid

    After 2 years without an Order I received, today a request to give Feedback for an Order placed on 23rd March 2019.
    I never received any notification from eBid and when I checked the Sales Tabs I found that an Invoice, which said it required nothing for me to do, and a Shipment details sheet.
    The Invoice stated "1st Class post" yet the Shipment Tab stated 2nd Class post.
    Also, when I checked PayPal from 22nd March to 7th April there was no payment from the Customer or from eBid.
    Can someone help explain the workings of eBid to me ?

    I have already sent a message to support but I got a response saying "they are very busy and I should check all available information which is already available.

    Have you checked your settings in 'My Notifications' https://www.ebid.net/uk/perl/account...account-emails ?

    I guess support are busy sweeping up the tumbleweed?

    Try them again in a day or two. They used to be very good, perhaps you were unlucky and got a new hire.

    Yes, I've checked my settings and they are correct.
    I have not had a response from Support except, what I think was an automated reply.
    Maybe they will answer helpfully at some point in the future.
    The main reason for my Post was to see how the eBid system works. Do Customers Buy, eBid sends them an Invoice, the Customer pays the Invoice and I get the PayPal payment.
    If that is the way then it is possible that the Customer did not pay the Invoice.
    I know that on eBay once an Order is placed the Customer makes payment immediately on PayPal but maybe eBid is different ?

    Unless you had a BuyItNow option on your listing for your buyer to make immediate payment via Paypal, you would have to send your own invoice via the ASL.

    eBid don't send invoices on your behalf; only you can do that.

    Thanks for this info. i did not know i had to send an Invoice.
    Out of curiosity I looked at the Item that sold and it does have a "Buy Now" Button on the page.
    Can the Customer still opt for me to send an Invoice even though it has a "Buy Now" Button ?

    Short update, I have sent the Customer an Invoice and an explanatory message.
    I will be curious to see what he replies.
