    Default Shipping Data on Listing

I'm working my way through the listing process. Did one so far, but am not sure I did it right. I ship by Priority mail but all of my items will be varied sizes and weights. When I do a listing the only options I see are Weight and Package size (normal or large etc). I am accustomed to listing both weight and box size like 12"x!2"x!2" or 18"x12"x12". I do not know if the calculator will return an accurate price just using box girth. Is there a way to enter a specific box size on each listing? Thanks for the help!

No. The calculator presently only calculates based upon weight. If you print the shipping labels online, this is done through Paypal (for US sellers), which does ask for box size.

As usps now uses dimensional weight for Priority packages over 1 cubic foot, you can simply look at the bottom of the box and figure the dimensional weight for your larger boxes (over 12 x 12 x 12) if the dimensional weight is not already stated on the box. As the outside dimensions are usually printed on the bottom of shipping boxes, the calculation is rather simple: L" x W" x H" / 166 = dimensional weight in pounds.

Of course, if the actual weight exceeds the dimensional weight, the post office will charge the actual weight rather than the dimensional weight.

If you use usps Flat Rate and/or Regional Rate boxes, you need not worry about calculating the dimensional or actual weight (though you will need the actual weight for customs forms if it ships internationally).

create an account on pirateship.com and use their calculator for each listing. you will find that the shipping prices are accurate for dim weights and the shipping prices are less. then in your listing you can used fixed price for shipping and priority. use calculated for first class mail. pirateship does not access fedex or ups. hope this helps

hi, took a few minutes to look at some of your listings, very nice photos descriptions and a very similar return policy to mine. i hope the pirateship.com helped you figure out shipping a bit. is usually cheaper than paypal, and can use measurements by the 1/2inch instead of even inches...
