If the PO don't get paid for delivering junk, postal prices will go up
Update:
Royal Mail engaged brain and sent me an Opt Out Form in the post along with contact info re the MPS (mail preference service) - to stop unsolicited mail from companies too so I have registered with that as well.
My "No Junk Mail" sticker for my letter box is winging its way to me in the post......
I am really looking forward to being able to enter my home via my front door which will no longer be jammed by all this unwanted mail/leaflets/flyers etc and no longer being forced to come in through the garage and removing the junk from the inside of my porch before I can use it again.
There are limits, and in my area certainly junk mail seems to have reached mega proportions - a real inconvenient burden for me.
An additional bonus, of course, is that my paper recycling bin won't need emptying as often either - delightful.
I am not in the least remorseful for opting out of this meaningless invasion of my home.
A thing to watch out for when you get a wad of junk mail folded up together is addressed mail mixed in with it. This is not supposed to happen but I have had two incidents recently and one of them was an very important item of mail that very nearly got binned along with the junk. I now have to check every item before I bin it. I wonder what I have binned in the past before I discovered it was happening? I have made a complaint to RM.
I'm sure I binned a P60 one year. Probably thought it was one of those " prize draws" where you were guaranteed to win a prize. Tear along the perforations and you found that your "winning" number entitled you to a pound. Claimable off your first order.

What a delightful junk mail free week I have just enjoyed!
The No Junk Mail sticker went onto my letter box flap on Monday and the result = not one scrap of junk mail has been put through my door.
I haven't had any Cold Callers, Free Newspapers, Takeaway Menus, or Charity Bags either - but I did buy a rather comprehensive sticker!
.
Charity sacks seem to be my bane recently. Several a day at times. How many old clothes do they think I have?
Also, plastic bags are deemed to be the modern curse so what am I supposed to do with them all? Each plastic sack also comes in its own plastic wrapper.
