Unhappy Royal Mail to increase price of stamps from March 23 2020

Royal Mail has said it will increase the price of first class and second class stamps.
The postal firm said the price of a first class stamp will jump 6p to 76p and the price of a second class stamp will rise 4p to 65p from March 23.
The company said the price increases are “necessary” to ensure the sustainability of its universal service.

Thanks Annie, groan, here we go again hours of endless editing fun ! I'm sure it's getting earlier each year, I could have sworn this used to be at the beginning of April ?!

Every year they increase the rates by more than inflation or wages.

And then I imagine they wonder why couriers are eating their lunch.

Eventually RM will go full circle, such a rarity that we'll remark as a stagecoach goes by: "That's Royal Mail, some day they'll figure out price vs volume, and remember 1840 and the revolution that penny post brought!".

And what's the betting that myHermes will jump on the bandwagon at the last minute like they did last year?

only 892 edits left [sob], being in a back water like London accessing couriers is a nightmare and I refuse to install printer cartridges to print off labels for about 10 sales/month

    Don't forget!

Better get a move on with my p&p editing although Bulk Edit does come in useful ...

If you shop around (I won't mention the obvious place!) you should be able to buy legal (genuinely Mint, unused) Royal Mail stamps at a discount of 20-40% quite easily. DO NOT BUY CLEANED,NO GUM OR LIKELY PREVIOUSLY USED STAMPS as you will be breaking the Law if you use them.

You'll find the self adhesive 1st & 2nd class stamps attract less discount as they automatically cover any future price rise. The lick & Stick versions are slightly cheaper. The biggest discounts are usually found for lick and stick stamps displaying varied values.

I have a couple of small lots which may not be of much help to big senders in my store already but for any fellow eBidder I'm happy to create eBid listings for any amount/type of discounted postage stamps as required at absolute rock bottom prices. I've traded postage for years and hold £000s in current stock.

    Hope I can be helpful.

My apologies. The four lots of discounted postage I had listed have just sold! My store's first sales
