I wasn't worried until it started affecting sports fixtures; then I knew it was really, really serious.

Nice to "see" you, astral.
Yes, we need humor at a time like this, or we could go bonkers. That being said, don't downplay the potential of this. Since governments are not being as proactive as they might be, we need to do what we can to slow the spread of this, and hopefully avoid it. Philpott's son, an ER dr, told us to stay away from people, period. Hopefully it doesn't mutate too much. The schools my girls teach at in Colofado have all closed, as of yesterday. Today online classes. Next week spring break, then probably online till the end of the year. Same with my cousin in Alabama. Kids will be missing their last quarter of school sports and activities, and maybe graduation and prom. On and on. Amazing how the tiniest thing can bring us to our knees. We are lucky it isn't worse. Like for our poor rooster, Russell Crow. A buzzard swooped down two days ago and carried him to the Big Chicken Coop in the sky. Things can always be worse.
Ta-Ta for now!

Face Masks do work:
The things which do not get mentioned interest me...there are often question marks floating above my head!
I order several items per month directly from China and they take several weeks to arrive in their little grey packages, delivered by our P.O. So I am still receiving items which I ordered before this fuss and bother. I have recently been informed that there may be a delay fulfilling orders as a result of the epidemic in China... in other words any decision I make or do not make is completely "out of kilter" with the actual scenario.
As I am certain I am not the only one ordering directly, there must be thousands of items going through our postal systems here in the West without our even knowing about it!
Please wash your hands regularly, keep your head in a bucket so you do not see too much and, if you've never prayed before, get ready to learn how!!

If Bob can keep his head, when all around him are losing theirs...
He has simply not understood the nature of the problem! (Apologies to Rudyard Kipling.)
I hope he is listening to scientists who have the correct credentials! (Remember..."If you've got an -ology, you're a scientist!")
If he shops in the cheaper supermarkets he will be unable to buy a single toilet roll - that's why I always have several weeks' supply!
If he knows basic hygiene then he has caught on to the idea that "hand washing" is symbolic of the bigger picture, The bucket may come in handy, however...
as will the face masks which don't work
