Announcement: for YDC 185 Fundraiser

Moonwitch has chosen to support You Raise Me Up in Eastbourne in September for the YDC 185 which runs from 24th - 28th September 2020

The rules info below is used with grateful thanks from all coordinators and related contributors that went before me as my writing is totally rubbish
Basic Rules Here

1. Choose a charity or good cause to support with the money you raise. You may support any cause you wish.
2. List your item in the Your Donation Counts sub-category of the Charity Auctions category on eBid.net.
3. IncludeYDC nnn (the number of the current YDC) and your cause in the auction title and description.
4. Maximize YDC visibility by offering your item to as many international destinations as possible. Please do not charge more than cost for shipping or postage.
5. Run your listing from the 24th to the 28th of the month.

Competition Rules Here

1. Choose an item with an expected value of less than £20.00 (or local equivalent). Higher value items are still welcome in YDC but will not be considered competition entries.
2. Start your auctions at 99p or less (or local equivalent).
3. Be sure your auction does not use Reserves, Buy Now prices or listing enhancements (eg Featured, etc).
4. Make sure your end time on the 28th matches your start time on the 24th, so that your auction runs for exactly four days.
5. Add the following text to your auction(s) description:
   This auction is an entry in the YDC competition. All money raised by this auction will go to insert charity name here.

General Tips

Make sure your titles are searchable to allow for bidders from outside of the forum to find your auctions . For example, the world ‘chocklit’ is fine to be used in the auction description but it’s unlikely that bidders from outside the forum will spell ‘chocolate’ this way. So novelty spellings are best left for the descriptions.

Hello folks

I just noticed that there are two listings for the YDC. One is YDC185 with no space. The other is YDC 185 with a space.

Just so that folks know, but is there a preference when folks are searching which one they look for?

I've never made a hard and fast rule about this as it's an easy thing to forget.

When I want to look for the YDC auctions, I search for YDC* and some kind of scary magic makes all with YDC in the title appear, whatever category they are in
