    Default YDC Suggestion Box

Suggestions for YDC Buyers and Sellers

When searching for the YDC auctions in a general search on the eBid site you’ll find more auctions if you search using YDC* as a search term because this will bring up any auctions that start with YDC, with or without a gap before the number of the current YDC

It has been noticed, especially this last YDC, that some people put YDC185, and some put YDC followed by a gap before the 185, and a few put both.....with and without a space between the YDC and the number.

If you do a search for YDC, you only get results for the YDC space number, not the YDCnumber.....unless you do a search, YDC*.

Some people don't know about, or wouldn't think to use the asterisk to extend the search to anything following YDC.

This means people doing a simple YDC search are missing out on half the listings and potentially more.

(I just read that back and it sounded OK in my head lol)

It has been suggested that we standardise the way the titles read so they all say, for example, YDC 185.

Please reply if you want to add anything

I don't put the gap between YDC & 185 as may need the space for another letter in the title!

YDC185 looks better than YDC 185 to my mind.

In the past, the YDC link to all the listings was provided on the opening post of the YDC Pimp Thread; and also on the YDC Announcement Thread (I think). All formats showed up as long as YDC was in the title.

When I have clicked on the YDC link on the opening post of the Pimp Thread, I have only seen one listing. It seems like all participants are posting link to their listings. That works also, but it is easier to be able to see every listing with one click.

That's for the reminder to include a link to all the YDC listings

When I have seen that link posted in other it is a link to the YDC category.

I think the guidelines need looking at again as I need a refresher

I think YDC185 makes more sense in a title too

I'm just confused as to the best solution to avoiding missing some of the YDC auctions when searching

I tend to search with YDC*

I have the YDC category saved in my toolbar bookmarks and in my Favourites so all listings show up when I click on it.

When I listed my very first YDC item, way, way back in the olden days, I was advised not to put a space between the YDC & the number.
So I have carried on with the traditional way ~ YDC186 no space.

However, I always use the search YDC* as this shows up all the listing (space or not).
