Problem with updating credit card expiration date.

Where? I cannot see anything like this on mine..... Is it because I elected to pay fees via PPal?

That is a possibility since. PPay have never been an option for sellers in the US but PayPal is I believe. However, I purchased my Seller+ Lifetime membership using the card I'm trying to update. It is merely a matter of updating the expiration date and the security code. While I have no problem with the $1 being debited to verify the card, it is a bit annoying having it charged again every time support asks me to retry it. But is really annoying is that doesn't update.

I'm afraid that this what it shows on my subscription page below the information that you posted on as being on yours. While I'm sure that there are differences based on the type of funding we each used to pay for our membership, the requirement to keep the records up to date should be similar. Of course, I would expect that the site would consider it in their best interest to see to it that the site would function and the data updated when the time came to do so.

Why is it required by eBid? Where would I find it? It is a novel concept to me!

JaBek - I paid for Seller+ Lifetime right at the outset via PPal and have always paid any fees due at the beginning of the month via PP also. Maybe this accounts for the difference as yourself and others maybe used and continue to use CC?

Interesting, moonwitch! It would appear that there are some different requirements for sellers located in the UK or perhaps those using a different method of paying their fees to eBid.

Cheaver! My understanding of the reason for them to want the card on file and for it to be kept up to date is to be able to pay any fees to eBid. I suppose that if one has it set up to pay one's fees through PayPal it would not be necessary to have a valid credit card on file. However, for those of us that do this by credit card, for the system to not allow us to update the card info to keep it valid would seem to something that defeats its purpose.

Now that I understand you JaBek I totally agree with you! I can only think there must be glitch which will hopefully get fixed once your other thread in the Website Glitches forum is seen and dealt with.

I have just checked mine as updated a few weeks ago and it appears that the old info is still showing and shows I need to update, so not sure what happens now.????

I contacted support about the issue but other than telling me to try again nothing has been resolved. I sent them a screen shot of the error message. You might want to let them know if yours isn't showing the correct expiration date. It would really be annoying if listings were pulled because of a fault in their system.

Problem finally appears to be corrected. I suggest that others that have recently update their registered card expiration date to double check. The glitch seems to have been fixed but you may need to redo your update if it was done during the glitching time.
