My sincere condolences to the Queen and her family. She must go on without her soul mate in earthly form. May the Queen be comforted by the many long years of soul companionship with Prince Philip. May he RIP.

He did so much for our country during his lifetime. My thoughts are with the Queen and his family at this sad time.

He gave up his career and so much for this country in support of his wife, our Queen, my thoughts are with the Queen and her family.

The Duke is the royal I met more than any other. He came to my Church several times when he was carriage driving at Tatton. Always very interested in everything, and quite religious. I remember during the Falklands him asking that prayers were said for his son Andrew.

That's a nice story - genuine - not all the media gush.

The Duke Of Edinburgh chatting to the lads from HMS Fearless on her return from The Falklands in 1982

My younger brother served at that time on HMS Fearless and my older brother served on HMS Coventry
Younger brother posted this picture on his Facebook profile. Older brother replied that the Duke couldn't visit HMS Coventry.
Younger brother and I both laughed (Navy humour keeps them both going)
