Paypal Account Suspended

I recently sold a North Korean 1998 banknote..worth about £2.50. It seems the transaction does not comply with U.S. regulations. I've reminded them that I do not live in, nor ship, to the U.S. What other payment options are popularly used so I can tell Paypal to go and jump in a river?

May sound silly, Kim is trying to raise money anyway he can,because of the sanctions, selling things on ebid would be one of those things on the list.
or if he knew he could get more than face value for his countries money he would do it, they are not letting him though ..that includes anyone.

Yes but my name is not Kim lol...I'm a UK citizen and I'm appalled that Paypal would bring politics into our homes like this. Considering I am selling a 5 Won banknote...it seems like trying to crack a nut with a sledge hammer. The customer still wants it and is paying by bacs...so It's only Paypal that are losing out

Hi. PayPal is a U.S. based country. North Korea is a country on the U.S. embargo list.

It's not trading with North Korea to sell one of their bank notes and it is imperialistic of a US company to impose US rules on the rest of the world.

I agree. In fact, Paypal(UK) is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority so it should follow UK rules. It is very possible that the British rules mirror the US rules especially as the UK authorities do not want sanctions imposed on them by the US.

Before Brexit, Paypal(Europe) was regulated by the EU authorities yet still followed US rules then.

If the OP is still unhappy, they could make a complaint to the FCA probably via the Financial Ombudsman Service.

I think it is ridiculous that a person can’t accept PayPal if they sell a stamp or coin from one of these countries on the embargo list. But, that’s how it is.
