Royal Mail Delays in the UK

The Service Updates page on the UK is really helpful so that you can see if there are any glitches in the system overnight. Sadly, I have been watching an ever-growing list of Delivery Offices which are not operating to full capacity due to sickness & staff shortages. This was the state of play for 12 January 2022 - if you are in these areas, or posting to these areas, there will no doubt be a delay:

They're having lots of problems with staff shortages and winter weather and I feared the worst on Monday the 10th when I posted two parcels. The P.O counter assistant in Ramsgate warned me of widespread delays and the deliveries where I live have been erratic instead of around mid-day as is normal. The deliveries have been made by different posties, not our usual one.

I was quite surprised when one, (ParcelForce 48 to Hampshire)arrived on time and even more so that the 2nd Class small parcel to Fife was delivered on the 12th.

Seems to be settling down a bit more now that there are more people returning to work. Although it's not over yet, this is today's Royal Mail list which is much shorter!
