NAME A GREAT FILM AND WHY YOU LIKE IT !!!!

Hi

i would have to agree with KPARENUTS - BLADERUNNER is my favourite film of all time , a film which when it was released in the early eighties, was at least 10 years ahead of its time , which in my opinion is why it never got the critical acclaim it deserved ,

a gritty & dark version of a not too distant future of a earth which all the decent people have long left behind, and all the dregs of society remain , excellent story and brilliant director and rutger hauer and harrison ford were both superb especially in the final part , i would like a sequel or even prequel ! , but it would have be kept in the same vein as the first and i would like to see james woods ( my fav actor ) play a major role in the film ( but not as a bladerunner - too old )

KPARENUTS, I`m probably going to open a real can of worms here by saying this but the only exception I can think of to your point is with Terminator and Terminator 2. I thought the 2nd was far superior to the original. Anyone agree/disagree or think of any other examples?

I liked the second terminator better as the action was alot better and cant wait to see the third .....

There is 3 films that i think are just as good as each other and think also some will agree and others disagree and they are ....STAR WARS ...THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK AND RETURN OF THE JEDI ........Im not a big fan of the new ones but have always liked the origanal 3 before they updated them

Another example of some better sequals are the LETHAL WEAPON series :wink: :wink: :wink: :wink:

i sort of agree !! T2 was superb and i think the gap between sequels helped a lot and the advance in digital effects , people were ready for the sequel , which is why i think bladerunner 2 would be a good move now , the effects are much better sci fi in general has much more appeal than it did with the likes of the matrix and other movies in genre

but i still think the original Terminator is an excellent movie Arnie was just too much in it :twisted:

Did anyone else subject themselves to watching Blair Witch 2 last Thursday? What was that all about?!?! Found the first one a real anti-climax but, hey, at least it was an original idea. Can`t believe they are making a 3rd. Just leave it!!!

A couple of other excellent films in my opinion:

Flatliners - great cast, especially Keifer Sutherland. It is good to see him getting the credit he deserves at last for 24 as he is a geat actor. I am a massive fan of the director Joel Shumacher, which leads nicely to...

Lost Boys - first modern vampire film I watched.

The Crow - beautifully shot, very dark and atmospheric.

Bladerunner - what can I say that hasn`t already been said in this Forum?

Memento - highly original and Guy Pearce has come a long way since his Neighbours days!

LOST BOYS was great as i liked the music in it aswell and think the music helped the atmosphere in the film :lol:

Hey Red_fox have you seen THE TIME MACHINE yet with Guy Pearse ... I thiught it was a great film and wished it went on alot longer than it did
