Thread: Ebid promotion ad 2 - YouTube

Ebay has probably only been forced to do the TV ads because so many sellers and buyers have jumped ship. It's all about public awareness, buying Adwords on Google is hardly going to set the world alight.

When I search on Google, a name I've seen before will be the one that gets the click!

In terms of the google thing

Type ebid, you get ebid straight away

Type "auction sites" you get ebid in that blue box, below cashconverters and qxla, then you get the main search results and ebid is on the second page. I never look at the blue results box, i just assume its junk sites mainly

But how many people are going to type in "Ebid" if they havnt heard of it and how many people actually type in "auction sites"? to look for items.

Whatever item i type in google, ebay comes up first unless i type something exactly as it is on one of the ebid items.....

Where is the google adwords actually going? what actually is the money buying?

Loads of newbies have introduced themselves by saying i searched for an alternative & found ebid.
I found ebid over 4 years ago by looking up auctions through Jeeves.
New members are joining every day, so something is working.

My auctions, good prices, fair p&p.

But a lot of the newbies seem to be sellers, and how many of us have promoted ebid as a selling venue on ebay etc?.

There seems to be NO advertisng whatsoever towards buyers, ive said it before and ill say it again there is no real incentive here for buyers, apart from .If your a seller, buy to increase your feedback...yay great.

What has the site go to offer sellers? more choice nope, cheaper items? nope, the majority of items on here i can buy a lot cheaper on fleabay,.....

Cheaper fees that ebay......fine for seller
What is there here for the buyer?.........

That is so sad, but yet true. We need sellers to stop being so greedy and sending buyers back over to fleabittenbay

I myself, have had to go back onto the other side as things were cheaper over there.

    It's quite mad really

What's the bet that the "greedy" sellers are really powersellers from the darkside, driving customers away from eBid

i do agreee rednosty, ive gone away and come back watched it.......and my ad is too long

As for the TBAR advert, fantastic that a new auction site has been able to do this, but i gotta say it done nothing for me at all, didnt make me want to check out Tbar and i thought in general it looked as if it was out of a comedy sketch, without the punchline

just my opinion, but well done to them for actually making an ad
