Maybe eBid should put a Disclaimer before anyone lists an item for sale along the lines of:

So you are saying that I don't have the right to comment on listings here and you are denying my right to freedom of speech. What next, will you be burning books too?

Perhaps eBid should put a disclaimer on the forums along the lines of:

How many times must I write this: If I had intended to make my remarks directly to the seller I would have contacted the seller directly. It was not my intention that this specific seller should be given an object lesson in auction description construction. I was merely pointing out something which annoyed me. Much as you are now doing.

Quite right. Just like if you don't like my posts you don't have to read them or comment on them.

Just as it is up to me if I want to comment on this or any other seller's auction in a manner which does not contravene the rules.

Well, I was just thinking, 'I wonder why I find it easy to post on the Support forums but not the social ones?' These back and forth pedantic exchanges could be it..

Not once have I said it wasn't your right to post what you did; I have said I found it strange, cruel and unfair.

I'm not verbally abusing you, but raising an objection to one of your posts and giving reasons for it.

Yes, you have made it quite clear it wasn't your intention to offer any help or advice. The sole purpose of you drawing attention to, and making negative remarks about a listing was because you found it annoying. I don't think that's the best way to encourage any potential new sellers who may be surfing the Forum.

Naturally it is your right to disagree with this point of view.

In that case: I disagree with you.

Now, can we drop this and move on?

    That's probably for the best.

    That's open to debate.
