Thread: The worst ever auction description?

  1. #1

Thumbs down The worst ever auction description?

    http://uk.three.ebid.net/perl/auctio...661&mo=auction

    Could this be it?

How on earth are people meant to decide whether they want to buy the item if the seller can't even be bothered to describe it?

And folks wonder why they don't sell any thing.

    What description

There is no way i would buy anything without reading up on the description first.

I feel that when your selling books a description is a must .

After all generally when someone buys a book from book shops they look at the back , flick through the pages etc .

So the online seller i feel should provide the info that the buyer can't see from a single front page photograph .

if they read the back cover for the ISBN number, you think they could have copied the blurb from the back cover too.

    Default My defence:

I listed the auctions in bulk by hacking a spreadsheet downloaded from my listings on A m a z o n. (Am I allowed to mention them here?) Unfortunately some of the details were lost in translation.
The people who have bought books from me were happy although apparently incapable of leaving feedback.
Most of the books are common fiction titles and it's pretty obvious what you are getting. Although I must admit the book that triggered this debate could do with a more adequate description.
At least it's got me my 15 minutes of fame (even if the audience is fairly limited).
