    aww, I love rats, I used to have a black one with a white tummy.

    my sister has just taken on two that were dumped, they have funny fur though, sort of curly thin hair, I do not know if they are meant to be like that or if its to do with how they were treated, they were in a dire way when they were handed into the rspca

    they seem to be very tame, though they bite each other a bit.

    they have similar features, I cant remember from the top of my head where aye ayes come from

    duno.........but rats carried the great plaque[blak death

    but was wiped out in 1666 in the great fire o london[killed the rats]

    They could be Rex rats, in which case they are meant to be like that.

    I had pet rats when I was a kid they make great pets, I used to carry them around in my pockets, but both my sisters hated them.

    My nephew & his girlfriend have 22 between them at the moment.
    They thought they would frighten me & bring some to visit, the look on their faces when I just picked them up was priceless!!

    Thank you for the link Rez.

    I will pass it on to my sister.

    The thickness of their fur in places is similar to that of the 7 week old rat shown on the site.

    The hair is longer but there are big empty gaps between the curls.
