Thread: Can't put prices in auction

  1. #1

Question Can't put prices in auction

Please help as I am new here. Transferring from Yahoo as it is closing. I am trying to list an item and when I go to page 2 to try to input starting price etc, it is gray and won't let me put anything in at all. Only fixed price is white and can be filled in. What is wrong? Help please.
    Thank you.

    Hi, welcome.
If you uncheck the fixed price option, you can then put your price in the other box.

My auctions, good prices, fair p&p.

I'm having the exact same trouble. Unchecking the fixed price box doesn't help; it just comes back with the same grayed-out price boxes. One poster said that run-till-sold auctions can only be Buy it Now. Is that true?

It could be the Run Until Sold option is ticked (this option is the 2nd option under the description box) tick the option above then fill the start time, I some times use 10 days and 5 hours so if it is on a 10 auto relist cycle it will close and relist on diffrent times thoughout the life of the listing.
Yes Run until sold items are BIN only, there is a start on first bid option.

    Hi Welcome to eBid
Yes run til sold are Buy it Now only, they have to be really because they don't have an end date to run to.

You can list On first bid, so that auctions don't start counting down until they get a bid,
    or
a normal auction, you can make your auction run as long as 90 days or as few as 3, with up to 10 reposts.

The easiest way is to set up an auction in the 'My defaults' section of 'My eBid' (you can set up up to 10 sets of defaults), in there set up, the auction format, countries available to, payment options, maybe even shipping costs, new or used, even the category if you use the same one a lot. You can also add any parts in your auction description that you use all the time Then save it.

Then when you go to list, there is a dropdown box on the top left, with your default set(s) listed, choose the one you want, & click the Populate button next to it, & everything you have saved will be automatically added for you. (The populate button on the top right, is so that you can use a previous auction's details as a start base &, then edit it)
