    Shocking isn't it, but as Beryl said on another thread,

    It says 70,000 reported as missing. It doesn't say how many return home voluntarily, or are found and brought back. I wonder how many were really "missing" in the first place. I remember my neighbour reporting her 12 year old son missing. Turned out he had decided to stay with his mate who was "home alone" for the weekend. There are a fair number of parental abductions, and children leaving home after a row. The number actually abducted by strangers is very small by comparison.
    Put's those figures into a totally different perspective.
