Thumbs down Tazbar shoots itself in the foot?

Just found out that they are introducing new fees. No more than 10 listings can run on an id without paying a monthly fee.

So my listing effort, previously divided, will now focus here.

HOORAY FOR TEASEBAR! Methinks they probably having to recoup all the cash they burned on their advertising budget. Sorry about your listing time and efforts being upset, but we all need you here

PS: I've still never seen an ad for it or heard of it anywhere else except on the eBid forums

Hey madelaine, where did you hear about the new fees from? I've just started listing 100s of items there but it will be coming back down soon if there is a monthly fee.

For such a small site you would think that monthly fees would be the LAST RESORT only. So we might see a sudden influx of new eBidders maybe?

They seem to have a lot of staff and there's always talk about new TV ad campaigns but the listings only ever increase by 50 odd a week

    I completely missed it.

Looks like a road to nowhere to me. In my case I'd have a choice between eBids' £100 lifetime membership or £18.99 a month. Doesn't look very competetive does it?

Oh yeh! Just read the announcement...geez that was slipped in very quietly. Perhaps they hoped no-one would notice and suddenly make lots of money from all those sellers who were unaware.

Hope so. The more sellers that concentrate in the same place the better (for sellers). I've always thought T'bar was a distraction.

Tazbar started out really well, but there was an early wobble. Then it seemed everything was going reasonably well. This is just unreasonable. I've never paid £4 per month in fees to them, and I'm not going to start now without increased sales. If the new TV ads had arrived and my sales were consistent, then I wouldn't mind, but as it stands it seems unlikely to pay off.

I knew the money men hadn't really gone away.

Looks like they charge for each shop on top of those fees as well

I'm so glad I don't use the site.

Just off to close the listings i have over there. I wasn't getting any sales there anyway!

Gazza is there any chance you can un-ban some of my old customers (banned for forum misdemeaners rather than buying or selling issues) so that they might be tempted come back here!

Yeah.... open the floodgates, Gaz, let them back, even if it's with a probationary period. and perhaps you could also offer some discounted lifetime memberships for a fixed period, say £49.99 for a lifetime membership, which is what you'd be making on each sign up if you implement the £50 commission. I, for one, would rather waive the commission with the prospect of a few more decent eBid stores opening than cost eBid that for someone to set up shop then leave a month later Food for thought this dinner time.
