Thread: Bulk upload - probably been adressed before but...

  1. #1

Default Bulk upload - probably been adressed before but...

when I searched there were 138 matches.

Bulk uploading. When I submitted my bulk upload they were all gallery or feature, but all 70+ came up as free. Went into bulk edit, and there isn't a way to edit it from there. Now I have to decide what to do, as entering 70+ items will be time consuming to say the least : )

Method to the madness seems to be that the things that affect the price you pay for running the auction can not be edited. If you want to add additional photos, change from feature to gallery, add an additional header, you have to start a new auction ("list similiar") and make the changes there.

Once you pay $X for the auction you can't change it to reflect $XX without starting all over again.

    Or I could be mistaken?????

The bit about not changing fees is right. As for the OP... did all the gallery listings have valid photos included? If not they have defaulted back to free because of that, I think. Put a "holding picture" in, and then edit - worth a try!

See that's the thing... since the photos were stored on my hard drive, as opposed to online, I didn't put in a path. Let me try c:\photos\photo1. I would have thought that it would be something that could have been changed later, like my dvd pics

The location needs to be one that can be loaded as it is into the listing and used by the web site - so it must be a valid *web* address. Photos can't be hosted on your PC, the rest of us can't see them there.

but one can select them from the hard drive individually by using the browse feature.

Tried it anyway, though as you said, it didn't work to put in the path as it is in the computer.

Finding a host for 70 jpgs is going to be difficult if not impossible.

People manage with a lot more photographs than that.

    You have several option.

    • If your ISP provides you with webspace you can host them there.
    • You can use an image hosting site such as Photobucket.
    • You can even use the facility provided - eBid's my Gallery area.

With the latter you can wrap all 70 up in a Zip file and upload them in one shot. You can then copy/paste the URL into the spreadsheet or have one holding image and add the correct image after listing.

Try thinking of the glass as being half full and many frustrations will subside.

The difference is that on uploading an image using Browse when listing eBid knows your computer is on, the file exists, and you are connected to eBid and it can access it.

When you upload a spreadsheet eBid has no idea whether your computer is going to be on and connected to eBid when it wants to read the images.

I have 147 listings in my Widget store - the images for which are stored on Photobucket.

I have 217 listings in my Books store - the images for which are store with one of my ISPs.

    Don't think you'll have a problem.
