1) Any news on Ninja Lister?


2) New Servers

• Any dates yet for the change to new servers?
• Will the server change & new site design happen at the same time?
• I don't know much about dns but I know a change takes a while to work through. Will the entire site be unavailable or will access still be available to the old servers through the .co.uk & .tv domains in the interim?
• Will Pppay also be moving at the same time?

3) New Site

• Any idea of when?
• Will there be any changes to how the listings descriptions show, ie description width, fewer or greater numbers of characters allowed?
• Will there be anything else that will impact our listings, our stores,our About Me Pages, that we need to prepare for?

If Mark and Gazza are busy doing systems testing, the best thing might be to leave them in peace so they can work through their test scripts with minimum distractions. That way any new set up is likely to go live with most of the bugs already sorted on the test system.

Here are some answers... from eBids June Newsletter.

Welcome to our June newsletter. It's been a very busy month for us, so much going on it seems to have flown by in a flash.

In the coming week we will be moving our operations to our new Dallas data centre. In testing we're seeing over 250% improvement in page load times for our US users and over 200% for the rest of the world.

Moving to the States works out a lot more economical than hosting in London. We are able to host up to 4 times the number of servers in Dallas than in London for the same cost. A much more reliable 24hr data centre support will see a faster and more reliable eBid very shortly.

We will also see an end to our us.three/four/nine/ten.ebid.net URLs. From the changeover everything will be www.ebid.net or uk.ebid.net and so on.

At the same time as installing and setting up everything in Dallas we've started work on building the newly designed site. Our design company finished work about 2 weeks ago and we have taken receipt of the final proofs. These will now be built into our templates over the coming weeks.

Our apologies for the late arrival of the Ninja Lister. I know a lot of you have been asking where it is. Once we have all the bugs licked we will put it up straight away.

We are now up and running with our new system of uploading your items to Google Products. You can expect your items to be showing within a couple of hours now instead of days. You will also see them being sold by your eBid Store or your individual eBid username instead of just a generic "eBid.net".
