Thread: The new eBid logo.

I agree with Astral and Ken, I just do not see the point in changing the logo. Save the money to improve the site even more or to make it more visible to peeps out there in the wide web.
But I do think that Jewel's changes of colour are nicer than the new logo.

Personally I like the twin circle design. whether it be the original colours, or Jewel effects last one with the subdued purple and vibrant green.

I certainly like the shading and texture of Jewels - It does give it a far more professional finish.

I think that an easily identifieable symbol is far more eyecatching than some fancy nondescript shape around the letters.

Also - if that design gets rolled out as a shape in other posts it gradually becomes identified with Ebid. That is why I made a logo to use on ebay which is basically a large red circle with a small pale blue circle floating to the upper right. It doesn't actually SAY Ebid, but if a few people used the idea, and all are Ebid sellers, it would gradually say more than the words anyway.

For those who aren't fussy about filtering what I sell - Take a look at ALL my stuff above. - But for more specific listings, take a peek in the stores below.

    Wink Just a thought...

Has anyone thought about whether the colours were just changed to reflect Halloween? - like google does?

I can't say I've ever associated green with Halloween.

    From Todays.. eBid Newsletter

We can report the building of the new site is in it's final stages, testing has been ongoing for over two weeks now. You will notice a lot of difference with the new look but functionality shouldn't be too different, just improved in most places. We have a date we are working to but won't make it public until we are 100% definite.

I am not involved.. just from eBids Newsletter.

I don't know if the publication of this is indicative of progress with the revamp or just a bit of sadistic nose tweaking.
Personally I never cared for the old logo that much because it is so blah. The new is nice but again blah. It needs to be more colorful. If they really want green and since they already have purple, why not add gold, then they could have mardi gras colors, that would definitely liven it up

Locally, there is always alot of green (smelly) stuff about after closing time on a Halloween, and I think you are right, it does look alot like the site's new colours.
