Question New to E BID, JUST LEFT ebay.

I have just decided to leave ebay after many years as a private buyer and more recently a seller. I was fed up being told I had to sell items with free p+p and being expected to loose money. I am not a business just a private seller.
So I have decided to try a different auction site - namely this one. And I was hoping to get some feedback on how good the site is, how many buyer are really out there and also how easy it is to use.
I usually sell records / cd's and some kids toys etc - nothing specialist.
I hope you can give me a bit of advice on this site.
    Thanks Rich

    Hi and welcome.

You will find things a bit slower over here but it is picking up. There will be lots of people around to help you with any problems you encounter.
My tip is start things at a price you are happy to accept as we do not have many bidding wars on here.
    Good luck.

Welcome to eBid. We are growing every day, while sales sometimes are slower here, there are a bunch of caring, sweet people here. And the users are alway's willing to help you when they can. I think truly, this site will surpass the others soon, it is very easy to use. The main thing is to have patients, and read all these boards. There is a wealth of information here, and many, many people willing to help you.

Welcome Rich. I suggest you take a look at some of the items listed here that are similar to yours. It may give you some ideas about categories and listing. The more items we have to offer buyers, the more buyers we get!

With Feebays plans to stop the free picture manager service and instead offer a subscription based service (Yep more money for Greedbay) I reckon more will be coming over to Ebid very soon

Hi Jake. Welcome! Similar story here too, although I've been registered here for over 5 years,, I finally made the jump.
As a previous respondent mentioned, friendly bunch here and thank goodness for that. That said,, I blame the "other" venue for a lot of the complacency and personal vendetta's due to the ignorance their admin had shown when implementing their constant barrage of new rules. It was bound to get up the backs of honest sellers eventually.
As for your feedback? Why not bring it with you? Check out your personalisation areas and look for a service called REPARTOO.. You can import your existing feedback from many sources and apply it to your new account here at E-BID. Nobody wants to be a zero or, thinks twice about dealing with one, so why not give the fraternity that bit of added confidence to your new sales or shop front? Enjoy!

    Hi Jake, welcome to ebid!

check out the forums, there are about 20 tips for getting those sales started fast. If you set up and a week or two goes by without a nibble, come back and have us look at your listings and offer a few tweeks to fix things right up.

It is good to have misc things, the popular items I am selling are all under $20 and tend to be gift type items. So now might be the time to add some holiday type items or smaller things. Try a discount for buying more than one item, that works too. Start at a comfortable first bid because that is the one that it will sell for. No bidding wars here, so do not start low. Make starting bid and reserve the same amount, the buy it now a bit higher.

Get as many items on as you can. The more items you list, the greater chance you will sell. Some people have 5 or 10 items and complain when they get no bids!

good luck, if you have any problems, someone is always here to help you

I joined last August but just about to start selling now. There are just some personal bits, handbags etc that I want to sell but hopefully, in time, will sell much more.

Lets hope that we will be successful.
    Best wishes
