And this is the statement from the CWU.

Let us all hope that Royal Mail will agree to further talks and an agreement can be reached.

Just out of curiosity, is the Royal Mail a government agency or is it a privately owned company?

The Government own it - but want to part privatise it.

Yeah that is why they are trying to streamline it first, so it is fit for sale.

They at least have to give a seven day alert to a strike this time, unlike the three day alert last time round.

If you are sending from overseas, you have no way to know when it will get through customs, so basically it will be hit and miss.

Like I said fun times ahead.

But on the bright side, the last strike people were constantly getting bad feedback over there, so if that is anything to go by then we should expect some new members after they are kicked.

Interesting! Government agency on strike. Sort of brings to mind Air Traffic Controllers strike and how that ended up.

    Bright side.
People losing their income through no fault of their own, and listing on a site where sales are likely to be a lot lower.

    Nice.

Would suggest a notice in your store right now - as items sent from USA to UK are likely to arrive during this possible strike.

Hi, I have used the p4d company to post to Germany - cheaper than Royal Mail for a parcel. The collectplus uses local shops as a pickup point + its tracked, insured and only £3.99 up to 10kg.
