Cool Insurance Advice (non auction related)

    hiya
just wondering if anyone has any advice on this sort of thing

my teenage son needs to do some fundraising to help towards his brass band tour next summer

anyway he was thinking of basic valet service - car hoovering and dusting just in our local area at weekends

i was supposing that he would need some kind of insurance (just in case), does anyone have any experience of this sort of thing - it wouldnt be a permanent thing just a few weekends i think

any help greatly appreciated shall be on this evening to check back

    Debs,

When I was aged 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 I used to do my own car washing service in my local area which included,

    Wash
    Wax
    T-cut
    Polish
    Hoovering

all for £5 per car and earned £40 per week, Back then I didn't need insurance, but with the PC brigade about you may need to check up on it as they probably would need your son to go through rigmorous tests and to get insurance aswell.

He should be covered on your household insurance.

We have 1 million public liability on ours. Check out your policy.

that might only work if he did it at home....

what you could do is ring your insurance company and ask their advice... but the fee might be more than he could make

Bring back the old days. We all knew where we were then.

    No PC brigades then.

Are you concerned that there may be rules in place that says your son NEEDS insurance, or concerned that if there is a problem you will be sued?

Either way I think you really need to be checking with your local council about rules/regulations/laws/ in the case of the former, or your home insurance company to see if you and your family have Public Liability cover for this.

    Hope that helps.

Remember if you don't hear what you want to hear, you can always blame the PC brigade or the government.
