Default Royal mail Can you claim for late delivery

Simple question...I Know you can claim for late delivery (Check the claim forms you can get for lost or damaged goods it states late post too) But can you claim for late delivery if its held up in a strike? I'm guessing YES!! Your paying for a service.......and not getting it....So CLAIM CLAIM CLAIM!

Ordinarily you can claim for late delivery and we will certainly be having a go. I have a subscription to a weekly magazine, which is not much good to me 4 or 5 days late, which is when I've been receiving it the last 2 weeks! Whether they are going to pay out or not is another matter.

My goodness be patient. It takes a while to pass it around the postoffice so everyone can read it first.

I was at the USPS yesterday and they said your strike is over! Peek outside, I bet the strike is over if the desk clerk said it was.

It is not a continuous strike - a couple of days, then normal work, another day or two... You get the idea. so some things get through normally while others are held up

I'm guessing that yes, there will be a clause somewhere, like when you get the "force majeure" (sp?), war, or "act of God".

I've had parcels go missing when I have sent them with proof of posting, and the Royal Mail will only refund the cost of the item sent, not the cost of postage as well, which is a rip-off since they are not doing what you paid them to do, i.e. delivering an item.
