    More people drown while in the desert than die of thirst!

    OK - you may not find that strange - but I do!

    Also.......
    More people are killed by donkeys than die in plane crashes each year.

    I can believe the donkey one (stroppy *#*&s) but I'm at a loss how people drown in deserts unless they're not mirages after all!

    Right on (at least in the deserts here). A person doesn't have to be asleep, just walking in a ravine. That water sometimes comes down so fast there's not enough time to climb out.

    There were three tragic deaths during our rainstorms a couple of weeks ago, a car got swept into a river by a wall of water.

    Yep, sure can. You can also drown from falling into a massive amount of grain and getting that into your lungs
