I normally mark item as shipped if I've received payment I also put in the box that the item will be shipped on a particular day. For instance "Item will be shipped on Wednesday Tracking number RXXXXXXXGB which will be available after 12:01pm for viewing on royalmail's website."

Just wondering but how do you get the tracking number before taking it to the Post Office.

"I've filled the form in" isn't the same as "shipped". Just don't update the record till you've really shipped and you won't have a problem.
If you bought an item, would you mark it paid because you have 20 quid in your wallet?
