We do Turkey again for Christmas...but that's because I can usually get a 2 for 1 deal when shopping for Thanksgiving
Sweet potatoes mashed, spread in a casserole dish, then sprinkle dark brown sugar with tiny marsh mellows on top baked. Hubby is now on floor trying to get his stomach to stop expanding...And I have to listen to the groans all night while he gets the alkaseltzer.

That sweet potato dish sound s yummy. Just one question: is that dessert or to go with the meat?

Well, some say it's dessert, but because it's heated in the oven and served hot, we use it as part of a meal...I LOVE sweet potatoes, plus they are good for you. We had them today and it's usually the favorite side dish. I also like to make cream cauliflower with cheese sauce. I am a great lover of creamy sauces....bad for those on diets.

The very best part of Thanksgiving, is you can finally get family together and usually have a great time, catching up on the latest gossip, watching football, and just enjoying each other.

We had honey-baked ham, corn pudding, scalloped potatoes, fruit salad and apple strudel and pumpkin pie for dessert. Turkey for Christmas, maybe. I guess we're not very traditional.

Good Morning - Can I come with you please? It all sounds fantastic. Very sinful but who cares?

By the way, I wouldn't mind a furry friend of yours to stroke while we are there!

I don't think eating turkey on one day of the year bars you from eating it again that year. Just as you can have beef. chicken, or pork more than once a year if you wish.

I used to buy several turkeys when they were on sale......had them at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but also other times in the year. Didn't necessarily do all the side dishes......just a couple, but mainly had the turkey for all the school sandwiches and dinners that it would make............a big turkey made a lot of inexpensive meals.........I'd freeze some of the cooked meat in little packages, then take it out in the coming months when I wanted something different.
    Ta-Ta for now!
