While it's true that PayPal does have a few sporadic horror stories here and there, I personally feel that a lot of the slamming of PayPal has to do with sellers who have had problems with money not being there when it should be, etc. Sellers can be just a "shifty" as buyers in my mind.
I've used PayPal for almost ten years now, never have had a problem. My buyers use PayPal almost 75% of the time, 25% to Google Checkout.

I disagree on you there. From Tamebay in 2007
PayPal announced this morning they are to become a bank headquartered in Luxembourg known as PayPal Europe SÃ rl & Cie, SCA (PayPal Luxembourg). All European PayPal accounts will be transferred to the new Bank on 2nd July.
The change also means that they’ll no longer be regulated by the FSA but will be regulated as a bank by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), the Luxembourg equivalent of the FSA.

I give you permission, but don't tell no one.

It really is unfortunate that you don't realize how much eBid members actually appreciate stringent checks and authorizations with new members as this helps to keep out the scammers (99% of the time) and make eBid a safer environment to do business with. Sadly, eBay is littered with con artists, scammers, thieves etc. and we don't want them here.
eBid use Paypal because it is accepted worldwide. I don't know of any other online payment processor that does that.
Also, eBid sellers/buyers are NOT forced to use Paypal as a payment method for selling/buying purposes. We can use whatever payment option we like.
Anyway, good luck in your selling ventures.
As a seller im not entirely happy with Paypal but 99% of my buyers want to use Paypal and the rest use Google checkout.
As a buyer i would hope Ebid would check out sellers selling expensive items so i can buy safely.
This is my opinion ,if you want to sell successfully you need to provide Paypal as a payment option.
You were asked for more information because you gave your name as "No Name", your address as "No Address" and your city as "Timbuktu". These seemed a tad suspicious to our security staff and your account was held.
