    Default How can a seller tell how many watchers (not views) there are on an auction?

    I'm just curious to know if there's a way to see how many watchers are on a listing as opposed to views. Any way to know?

    Well that's too bad. Not the answer I wanted to hear, but thanks for the response.

    No it isn't. Had nothing to do with sales on the bay and doesn't have anything to do with them here. I only watched things to see if they sold. Not because I wanted to buy.

    @Dardonboi

    I think it be nice to have the watchers back again.
    Bykimbo did an informal poll recently and many people said they watch as they want to buy later when they have checked things out or have the cash.
    Of course there are also some like you that watch things that well etc.

    Watchers don't mean J.S.

    Peeps can watch an item for dozen's of reasons.
    I've lost count of how many of my listings have finished with loads of watchers and nary a bid!

    I did, and they did, quite right. Roughly three-quarters of people say that they watch because they might buy later - far more than I expected. I've always thought watchers information fairly useless, but the poll response (though naturally from a small section of ebidders only) suggests its far more significant than I'd imagined. Changed my view of watching info somewhat.

    There is an Australian Auction site that not only does watchers, it shows you who they are (if they allow it in their personal options)
    And you can contact them though the auction site.

    I have made several sales that way!
