    Default Withdrawing an item

    Hi

I forgot to remove an item that is no longer for sale. I had listed it ages ago as auction to start on first bid. I have tried to have it removed by emailing support but I see it is still running and has a bidder. I can't contact bidder but have added to the listing that it is no longer available.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

You can't close an auction after you have received a bid. I have put a notice on the listing asking bidders not to bid as item is no longer available.

They MAY interpret that to mean that it's a done deal that they get the item.............it's no longer for sale because they have bid on it......and since it's been listed a long time, there probably won't be more bids. You should email the person and explain what has happened. Maybe you have something similar they would like instead??

To remove a bid.... copy the username of the bidder, go to 'My Blackball' and paste his/her name in there, then click 'remove current bids', unfortunatly you cant contact the buyer to apologise.

Found on another thread so bid has been removed. Unfortunately I can't contact bidder to explain as bidders can't be contacted unless they have other sales running.

Maybe you could un-blackball them, contact them and apologize, then reblackball them............at least they would have a clue as to what is happening and not get mad at all of Ebid...........

You only get the bidders details if they win an auction

yes, but she would be able to see the bidders name on the bid, and could pm them....................or at least could have before they were removed. Well, at least the bidder's name should be on her blackball list - she could take them off the black ball (after she has copied down their name) then private message them, then re-blackball.............
