Two Things

If people price things higher on ebid, how do they expect them to sell ?

If Ziggy decides not to import his feedback (I din't either).
Then he has to create his own feedback - quickly.
What I did was offer some really good below cost specials to get a few sales and feedback on the board.

Other people chose to import their feedback which just shows they are a good seller.
(Just about every other alt site offers this facility)

It is personal preference.

It also gives the seller experience of selling on the site good and early, so they see how it works. I also believe in making a purchase so you can see it from the other side of the table too. I think the best way to learn a site is use it. As much of it as possible.

If viewing in absolute numbers this is very true; and generally speaking this is very true (cost to sell on eBid is cheaper than the Bay). Each person has to take a serious peek at their own numbers and also more importantly their goal(s).

If just looking at numbers, let say someone only paid the $75 regular seller + membership fee; had listings that did not sell for 1 years or more; net income (-$ 75.00)

If same person listed an iitem they paid $5 for; sold it for $10 @ 15% fee; net income = $10 - $5 - $1.50 = $3.50 if 1 item sold in 1 year.

Depends on person's goals, if they are looking at the long term and first example carries no fees or low fees (2%); that is a small amount to invest in future growth of a business that is being built.

In the second example (alternate venue) if the person net income is positive though small in amount, they have lost absolutely nothing even with the high fees. This done over & over could potentially net a small fortune.

Together these two senarios demonstrate the power of diversification. Each person has to figure out if something is right for them.

wow ans so what. If you cant sell a thing on this site what does it matter. I have not seen one seller on this site making a living selling here. All the feedback numbers are inported. as I have said many times its rediculous to be here for months and not sell one item when I sell hundreds on feepay a month. It does not matter how cheap the fee's are if nothing sell's. I wont move my feepay feedback numbers over here because I think that is very misleading and wrong. The only reason why I open a store here was that it looked like sellers were selling because of ther feedback numbers. well come to find out there imported. """""what a joke"""""""""""""" Wasted many hour's listing items here and all I have ever done here is remove them when they sell on feepay.

Most of the people up here used to sell on eBay all day, and all night.
Now, with eBay's changes to their pricing structure, and their unfair feedback policies, etc, etc, eBay has become very difficult to sell on....especially at a profit.

So, I say to you, it doesn't do much good to sell hundreds of items on eBay, if they are hardly profitable.
At least on eBid, your sales are profitable.

That's a very good point Thinboards!

One that we should all remember.
(Ebay have never as far as I know made things better for their sellers)

And with the rising cost of shipping, and the fact that people want everything as low cost as possible these days (economy, competition) the seller is squeezed in the middle.
At least on ebid the seller has chance of making a good prodit.
