I am a graduate student in an Agronomy and Horticulture program and I love plants!
I love that you can take a single leaf from an african violet plant and develop an entire plant (many times you get 2 or 3 plants) from a single leaf! Its amazing!!

A friend of mine does that, sadly I am a plant killer
That brings back memories ! I can remember my grandmother doing that. She used to take a leaf off her African violet plant and just leave it in a coffee jar lid with a little shallow water and baby bio to root it and then give the new plant to friends.

You can join eBid :- HERE
You can do it with Streptocarpus as well
If you cut a leaf into sections and plant the bottom end in compost each section will produce lots of baby plants!
I used to grow them for carboot sales.
If anyone is interested in looking at some pretty varieties, take a look at the pictures on my auctions. Violet varieties are so widespread, there are flowers of every color!
Here's a beautiful blue/purple flower with white edges. Very elegant!

I just posted an auction for one of my favorite African violets! It has white flowers with a green tint to it! It's amazing!! Called "Whiff O Green"
White and/or green are rare colors for violet flowers so this is especially rare . Let me know if you like it!
