The last thread on this was dated 22nd March 2011, so about 5 weeks ago.

The relevance of the posts from 2007, is that eBid were spending as much as they had available on advertising, & to point out they are not a multi-national company with millions in the bank.

I'm sure eBid still do spend as much as is available,
but it's pretty pointless if they spend so much on advertising they bankrupt the company.

I seem to remember Bonz had a cash injection of $1,000,000
it obviously wasn't enough to turn them into a household name, so
    how much is?
    $2,000,000? or maybe $10,000,000?
    That MIGHT cover the USA,
what about the rest of the eBid member countries?

It doesn't matter how much people create on the forums, the reality is

eBid CANNOT spend what they don't have.

Isn't doing just that, what created the whole global economic mess in the first place?

It's pointless asking the members on the forum anyway, we can discuss this until we're blue in the face, but none of us have seen eBid's books, or know what their bank balance is.

The only people who could answer are Gazza & Mark.

    BTW
    Nice one Mags!

    Well said Gothicina.

People who say that ebid should advertise on tv don't have a clue about how much it would cost.
And to get ebid to become a household name would need continual ongoing advertising.
To get people to keep going back to ebid.

That is why Cadbury's and McDonalds keep advertising and they are household names.

Regarding Bonanza, yet they got that 1 million dollars funding injection and they decided to spend it on better premises, more servers and more employees.
So they did not see the value of using $1 million on advertising.

The best way to promote ebid is to get more listings.

    This does three things

1 It gets more visibility in search engines
2 We show up in auction site charts higher up the rankings
3 And more listings hopefully translates into more sales for all of us (the trickle down effect)

I have just noted another big jump in USA listings, this is great.

Should you ever want to buy one - Yuck! As for Cadbury's - they were swallowed up by Kraft.

Here in New Zealand, we all used to love Cadbury's chocolate, it was made here and was great.

Last year they started using palm oil and it takes like mud.
And they are making it in Australia.

They lied to us and said they were using vegetable oil and New Zealand milk!

Then they got found out and admitted that they were using Palm Oil and not New Zealand milk as Australia does not allow the import of whole milk.

So now Cadbury's sales in New Zealand are going down and one of our own local brands - Whitakers that has kept their recipe the same is doing much better, even though it is much dearer, due to using proper chocolate.

But Cadburys were cutting back on the number of world wide factories before Kraft took over, but now I suppose its getting worse.
