Most popular payment method?

As a newcomer (seller) to eBid, I wondered if any seasoned sellers here could tell me...is there a particular payment method which is more popular with buyers or sellers? I noticed PPPay seems to be promoted more by eBid but I don't have any experience of that particular service.

On eBay it's PayPal of course and they don't allow any other payment methods except cheques or credit cards over the phone. I used to offer GoogleCheckout to my auction buyers on eBay which was quite popular, until they announced a policy banning it (no doubt to protect their monopoly) so I was pleased to see it supported on eBid.

I don't know how the fees for PPPay compare to PayPal and GoogleCheckout, it's something I will have to look into.

Anyway I'd welcome any advice or info on this as a new seller as obviously I want to make it easy as possible for customers to pay using the method mmost preferred if there is one.

Think you will find most buyers prefer Paypal although i have Google Checkout its seldom used.

Moneybookers, GoogleCheckout, cheques and Postal Orders + Paypal - in that order !

Paypal is used by many sellers/buyers in the U.S.. Both Paypal and Google are integrated into eBid.

I am new eBid and getting ready to start selling, but from what I understand, if you have only a Seller (not Seller+) status, PPPay is the only free option. Since I am in the U.S., how can I receive payment, or am I not allowed to under the basic Seller status?

You can list as a basic seller, not sure about the fees, you may want to check these before listing. You can offer Paypal, Google or whatever payment option you choose, however I believe if you're a basic seller you'll need to invoice buyers through Paypal/Google yourself.

IMHO if you're planning on listing a number of items and/or sticking around for a while, seller+ upgrade is a good idea - you get 5 free stores, no listing/relisting fees (unless you choose extras) and only 2% FVF on listings with gallery pix.

A great majority of my sales are on Paypal.
I have used PPPay but a slight disadvantage for me was paying to take money out, so I have only used income for paying for things I buy on Ebid.
I offer cheque and post order payment and there is a minority of buyers for whom this is the way they want to pay.
There are also a few buyers who don't like dealing with Paypal and the like, and perhaps it is an ethical thing that they use my BACS option to pay. I actually like this option best because I don't have any charges to absorb
