    Default Not sure how long to leave before opening a PayPal dispute

    Hi,
    I bought an iPad 2 on here just over a week ago (Fri 23rd Sept) - I got a postage notification from PayPal last Wednesday after a couple of emails I had sent the seller but there was no tracking info - all it said was that the item had been posted using Royal Mail. Have had a few concerns as I found feedback from 3 people (all left after I had bought the item) who had bought from the same buyer and none of them had received their items - 2 had had full refunds but one hadn't and left negative feedback. Now the seller has a line through their name. I contacted Support who said to open a PayPal dispute but should I leave it a couple more days before doing this? Any advice would be gratefully received - I have never encountered this problem in all the years I have been buying online.

    Open the dispute now. You can always close it later if the seller makes good. 10 days in the post seems excessive - especially combined with the experience of other users for the same item.

    Thanks Mel. I have just sent one last email to the seller but will follow your advice and open a dispute.

    Agree with Mel; if your seller was an overseas seller it might take longer than 10 days, but considering the negs left by other buyers and the strike through, plus support's advice, it doesn't look promising. I'd file a claim, too.

    you can use tracked services with Royal Mail, and I would have thought it would be sheer common sense to use tracking and insurance with an item that expensive. I agree with the other replies. Open a dispute and if item does show, you can always close it.
